Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As part of the Uzbekistan Outsourcing Conference, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov met with Takaanori Inoue, CEO and Chairman of the Board of the Japanese IT company CROSS CAT, and Executive Director Isao Ogura.

During the meeting, the Uzbek side provided a detailed overview of the country’s ongoing reforms in the IT and outsourcing sectors, favorable conditions for foreign investors, tax incentives, IT visas, and the country’s strong human capital in the digital sphere.

The parties discussed the potential opening of a CROSS CAT outsourcing office in Uzbekistan, a move prompted by Japan’s shortage of IT specialists. In the event the company decides not to establish a physical presence, alternative models for project implementation via experienced Uzbek IT firms were proposed.

In addition, CROSS CAT was officially invited to participate in the upcoming Global Business Services Forum, to be held in Tashkent from 23 to 25 July. The forum will provide the company with a valuable opportunity to familiarize itself with Uzbekistan’s IT infrastructure, talent pool, and state support mechanisms.

Founded in 1978, CROSS CAT is a Japanese IT company employing approximately 595 people. In 2023, the company reported revenues of US$102 million. Its core areas of expertise include software development, IT consulting, infrastructure services, systems integration, and business intelligence (BI).

The company also provides temporary technical and office staffing services, recruitment, and outsourcing, some of which are delivered through its subsidiary, CROSS UIS Co., Ltd.
