Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a law introducing amendments and additions to several existing legislative acts aimed at enhancing the combat readiness and effectiveness of service activities in the country’s Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies.
According to the new legislation, military personnel and law enforcement officers are prohibited from engaging in entrepreneurial activities, as well as from receiving rewards, benefits, or gifts from individuals or legal entities for the performance or non-performance of their duties in their interests.
The law also introduces a ban on the use of illegal privileges, preferences, or advantages related to their official positions.
The law will come into effect one month after its publication.
