Uzbekistan’s GDP to grow by 7.9% in 2011 - EIU forecast
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan will record one of the highest economic growth rates in 2011, forecasts Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).

The EIU said the gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan will grow by 7.9% in 2011.

According to forecast of EIU, Uzbekistan will be seventh in the world on the GDP growth rate in 2011 after Eritrea (17%), Qatar (15.8%), Ghana (14%), Ethiopia (9%), China (8.9%) and India (8.6%).

Puerto Rico will be the slowest growing country in the world, where economy will drop by 4.2%. Greece (-3.6%) and Portugal (-1.2%) will follow Lithuania.

The Government of Uzbekistan forecasts that the economy of the country will grow by 8.3% in 2011. The GDP of Uzbekistan increased by 8.5% in 2010.
