Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The growth of gross domestic product (GDP) of Uzbekistan in 2020 is estimated at 0.6%. This was stated in the January issue of the World Bank’s Global Economic Prospectsreport.

According to the World Bank forecasts, the economic growth of Uzbekistan in 2021 and 2022 will reach 4.3% and 4.5%, respectively.

Overall, Central Asia is expected to recover to 3% economic growth this year, driven by modest increases in commodity prices and foreign direct investment as the subregion becomes more involved in China’s Belt and Road Initiative, according to the report.
