Finance 17/12/2007 Uzbekistan’s Gallabank to boost share capital 2.7-fold
The issue will consist of 240 million common shares with a par value of 100 soums. It will begin on December 26 through a public offering and free trade of shares on the national Toshkent exchange.

The current share capital of Gallabank is 14 billion soums: 132 million in common shares and 8 million in preferred shares, all with a par value of 100 soums. There are 6,200 shareholders, including 3,500 individual investors.

Gallabank was founded in 1994, and its main business is providing credit to businesses involved in the grain industry. The bank’s promoters are businesses and organizations of the government company Uzkhlebprodukt. The bank operates 32 branches, 80 minibanks, 158 savings banks, and 72 currency exchanges.

In the 2006 Interfax-1000: CIS Banks ranking, Gallabank was 593rd among banks of the CIS and 8th among Uzbek banks in terms of assets.
