Uzbekistan’s foreign trade in 2008 increased by 21.4% to US$17.27 billion - exports rose by 28.7% to US$11.57 billion while imports went up by 8.7% to US$5.7 billion.
The share of non-raw materials accounted for 71.2% of exports, down from 73% in 2007.
In 2007, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade surplus doubled to US$3.76 billion while total trade went up by 27.4% to US$14.23 billion. Exports increased by 40.7% to US$8.99 billion while imports increased by 9.5% to US$5.24 billion.
