Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry calls for restraint in the Middle East

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan expressed deep concern about a new wave of escalation in the Middle East.

The department called on all interested parties to show restraint, renounce further military action and take measures towards a political settlement of the conflict.

The statement emphasizes that increased tension could lead to serious consequences and a large-scale military confrontation.

On 14 April, Iran attacked Israel in response to the attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus. Hundreds of drones and missiles were launched during the attack.

Israel reported intercepting most of the shells, while Iran warned of the possibility of more strikes if Tel Aviv retaliated.

Earlier, the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan condemned the attack on the Iranian diplomatic mission in Damascus, calling it a gross violation of international diplomatic law.
