Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 25 November, the first Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Montenegro, with residence in Budapest, Oybek Shakhavdinov, presented his credentials to President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović, Dunyo news agency reported.
During the ceremony at the Presidential Residence, both sides discussed the current state of bilateral relations, as well as opportunities to enhance and elevate them to a new level.
Jakov Milatović congratulated the people of Uzbekistan on their achievements in social and economic development and expressed hope for the country’s continued success. He highlighted the importance of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s initiatives in the areas of reform and international cooperation.
The President of Montenegro emphasized the significant potential of bilateral relations, particularly in areas such as trade, economics, investment, and culture. He also underlined the importance of creating favorable conditions for tourism and humanitarian exchanges.
This meeting marked an important step in strengthening the partnership between the two countries and contributes to further developing mutually beneficial cooperation.
It is worth noting that diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Montenegro were established on 19 December 2006.
Oybek Shakhavdinov had previously been appointed as Uzbekistan’s first ambassador to Slovenia, and on 23 October, he was appointed ambassador to Croatia. In March 2024, he was named Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Hungary.
