Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – In the first half of 2024, commercial banks in Uzbekistan issued auto loans totaling 8.91 trillion soums, according to data from the Central Bank.
This represents a decrease compared to the same period in 2023, when the volume of auto loans amounted to 18.49 trillion soums.
Last year, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan set a limit stipulating that the share of auto loans in the total credit portfolio of banks should not exceed 25%. In 2023, the total volume of auto loans reached 36.55 trillion soums.
In the first six months of 2024, commercial banks provided a total of 45.27 trillion soums in loans to the population.
