Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Central Bank has announced stricter oversight measures for certain types of domestic money transfers, requiring payment service providers to enhance control procedures. The bank clarified that the new regulation will not create additional difficulties for clients.

According to Clause 312 of the internal control rules, when transferring electronic money domestically in amounts equal to or exceeding 30 sizes of basic estimated value (approximately 11.2 million soums), information about the transfer must be accompanied by the sender’s identification data.

The Central Bank emphasized that this process does not require any additional actions from clients, as it involves only the exchange of information between payment service providers and banks.

It was also noted that the identification data collected when the account was opened must be attached to transfers that meet or exceed the specified threshold.
