Uzbekistan’s Central Bank Reserves Hit All-Time High, Surpassing US$49 Billion
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — As of the end of May 2025, the gold and foreign exchange reserves of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan rose by US$410.2 million, reaching a record high of US$49.66 billion.
Foreign currency reserves increased from US$11.0 billion to US$11.4 billion. A slight growth was also recorded in investments in international securities, which rose from US$703.9 million to US$706.3 million.
Despite a decrease in the physical volume of gold—from 11.5 million to 11.4 million troy ounces—the value of gold holdings in the reserve structure increased by US$2.2 million to US$37.6 billion, driven by strengthening global gold prices.
