Uzbekistan’s Central Bank and IFC agree to expand cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Central Bank of Uzbekistan held a meeting with a delegation from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), led by Wiebke Schloemer, IFC’s Regional Director for Central Asia and Türkiye.
Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration to further develop Uzbekistan’s financial system.
Key topics included enhancing both the banking and non-banking sectors, improving financial infrastructure, and expanding access to financial services for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The sides also addressed factoring development, attracting new participants to the microfinance sector, and introducing hedging mechanisms.
Both parties emphasized the importance of continuous dialogue between the regulator, relevant government agencies, financial market players, and international partners.
