Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Uzbekistan youth team, led by employees of the Scientific and Practical Center for Implementation of Innovation Developments under the Ministry of Innovation Development, took part in the Robot Olympiad 2019 International Olympiad, which was held on 15-20 December in Chiang Mai (Thailand).
IROC has held a robot contest for young children since 1999. Every year, more than 50 thousand students from all over the world participate in the international competition. IROC believes its goal is to develop the talents of children interested in the field of robotics. More than a thousand participants from 20 countries demonstrated their knowledge and skills.
Competitions for children were held in the following directions:
Tag-Out is a tournament game, a goal of which is to push the opponent’s robot off the playing field faster than the opponent. To avoid mines that are located around the field, the competitors are required attentiveness and strategic thinking in preparation.
Mission Challenge is a secret mission, the task of which is announced to the participants only on the day of the competition. In this direction, the ability of schoolchildren to solve unforeseen problems using knowledge of robotics in time-limited situations is assessed.
In the Tag-Out junior direction, children from 14 countries took part, among them Firdavs Radjabov from Uzbekistan took 1st place, Shahboz Shavatov - 2nd place.
In the direction of Creativity, Behruz Berdiev, Humoyun Khaidarov, Shavkat Abdurahmonov created a robot used in the field of agriculture and took 3rd place. Shahboz Radjabov, Azizbek Shokirov took 3rd place in the Line-following direction. According to the results of the competition, the participants of our country won 7 medals.
