Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22 May this year, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Ilkhom Norkulov met with representatives of the World Bank, led by team leader Niyu Chiyu.

The meeting was also attended by Timur Khusanov, Director of the Department for Entrepreneurship Development and Improvement of the Business Environment, Azimjon Bobozhonov, Head of the Department for Combating the Shadow Economy and Fiscal Administration, as well as from the representatives of the World Bank, Senior Economist Uochi Ikuko, expert Sevilla Muradova, consultants Yaroslav Eferin and Nargiza Foziljonova.

At the beginning of the dialogue, Mr. Niyu Chiyu expressed his sincere gratitude to the Government for the continuous support of the activities of the World Bank in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In turn, Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Ilkhom Norkulov acquainted the guests with the ongoing reforms in the country in the areas of entrepreneurship, land relations and infrastructure development.

During the meeting, cooperation was discussed within the framework of current and promising projects, in particular, the parties exchanged views on projects aimed at organizing the connection of entrepreneurs to global e-commerce platforms and promoting national fruit and other products to foreign markets.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue joint cooperation in the above areas and expand the scope of mutually beneficial projects.
