Uzbekistan women’s boxing team achieves record-breaking R=result at World Championship
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbekistan women’s boxing team achieved historic success at the Women's World Boxing Championship, which concluded in Niš, Serbia, winning an unprecedented four medals.
In the final of the 66 kg weight category, Navbakhor Khamidova faced the tournament's top favorite—Olympic champion and two-time world champion Busenaz Sürmeneli from Türkiye. Despite her defeat, Khamidova became the first female boxer in Uzbekistan’s history to reach a World Championship final.
