Uzbekistan wins 12 medals at Judo Grand Slam in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The prestigious Judo Grand Slam tournament has concluded in Tashkent, with the Uzbekistan national team delivering an impressive performance, securing a total of 12 medals—1 gold, 3 silver, and 8 bronze.
This achievement placed Uzbekistan third in the overall medal standings, behind only Japan and China.
The tournament held special significance for Uzbek judokas, as they set a new record for the highest number of medals won at this level of competition.
Shakhzodkhuja Sharipov achieved the greatest success, claiming gold in the under-90 kg category.
In the same weight class, Nurbek Murtazoyev won bronze, while Ernazar Sarsenbayev (under-100 kg) and Alisher Yusupov (over-100 kg) also contributed with bronze medals.
