Uzbekistan Welcomed 4.2 Million Tourists in Five Months — Nearly 50% Growth
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From January to May 2025, Uzbekistan was visited by 4.2 million foreign citizens who arrived for tourism purposes. This figure represents an increase of almost 50% compared to the same period last year, with an additional 1.4 million visitors.
As in previous years, the majority of tourists came from neighboring countries, with the largest number arriving from Kyrgyzstan.
According to data published by the National Committee on Statistics, Kyrgyzstan remains the leading country of origin for tourists, accounting for 1.2 million visitors.
It is followed by Tajikistan with 993,700 tourists, Kazakhstan with 889,600, Russia with 334,300, Afghanistan with 199,200, and Turkmenistan with 142,500 visitors. There is also a notable presence of tourists from Turkey (65,800), China (51,900), India (28,500), and Italy (17,400).
In addition to the listed countries, over 200,000 tourists from other nations also visited Uzbekistan during this period.
