Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The US State Treasury delegation headed by Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Technical Assistance Policy Larry Macdonald visited the State Tax Committee.

The technical assistance program involves areas of public administration in the area of finance, as well as oversight of the financial sector. They, in turn, are divided into five areas - revenue management, development of the securities market, which includes debt management and infrastructure financing.

The third direction is the formation, execution of the budget, as well as the effective use of budgetary resources. The fourth includes supervision of banks, non-bank financial institutions. And finally, the fifth area is the fight against economic crimes, which in particular includes the fight against the financing of terrorism.

State Tax Committee tentatively identified the most effective areas for technical assistance from the US Treasury Department, which will be coordinated jointly with the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan. This is revenue management and the fight against economic crime. In addition, there are directions in the fight against money laundering and transfer pricing.

Delegates were briefed on the large-scale work carried out by the staff of the State Tax Committee, together with experts from the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, its results and prospects.
