Uzbekistan undertakes measures on ordering retail sale of beer
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 1 November 2009, Uzbekistan banned retail sale of beer through trade points, located within a radius of less than 500 meters from educational establishments and religious organizations.

On 26 October, the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan signed a resolution “On additional measures on ordering retail sale of beer”.

The document was adopted in line with the article 9 of the Law of Uzbekistan “On protection of consumer rights” and to ensure protection of health of population, in particular young generation, as well as ordering retail sale of beer.

The document said non-adherence of the requirements will be violation of Retail trade rules and entails responsibility in line with the legislation.

State Tax Committee of Uzbekistan was entrusted to toughen control over adherence to Retail trade rules on sale of alcohol and low alcohol drinks, including beer, and adopt effective measures on attraction to responsibility of persons, who violated them.
