Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 29 January 2024, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev held an online meeting with the Special Representative of the British Prime Minister for Afghanistan and Pakistan Andrew McCoubrey.

The parties discussed the current state of Uzbekistan - the UK cooperation on Afghanistan. Mutual interest in maintaining regular dialogue in this direction was emphasized.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to the upcoming meeting of special representatives for Afghanistan in February this year, which will be chaired by the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in Doha, Qatar.

It was noted that this event will play an important role in coordinating the efforts of the world community in finding effective solutions to stabilize the situation in Afghanistan, as well as providing humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.
