Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Webinar on “Tourism after a pandemic. The view of European experts ”was held with the participation of representatives of the tourism sector and tour operators of Uzbekistan and France, Dunyo reported.
Its organizers were the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Paris and the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the development of tourism. The French side at the event was represented by Cristina Rousse, Deputy Secretary General of the European Association of Travel Agencies and Tour Operators, and Jurgen Bachmann, Secretary General of the Association of Tour Operators of France.
He was provided with information on measures taken in Uzbekistan to support the tourism industry during the pandemic. It was noted that the State Committee for Tourism Development is currently working on the development of online tourism, support for entrepreneurs and start-ups, and also organizes free online courses and webinars to improve the skills of staff and specialists.
Participants emphasized the significant decline in global tourism as a result of the pandemic, which had a huge negative impact on the tourism industry in Europe and the world as a whole. The need to strengthen important and timely measures to support this sector in the coming difficult months was noted.
European experts also shared their views on the future development of the travel industry, voicing a number of recommendations for colleagues in Uzbekistan. So, in their opinion, such measures as the organization of virtual tours, the live broadcast of concerts from home and webcasts with historians, as well as the promotion of projects under the slogans “Stay home today, Travel tomorrow”, “Don’t cancel, postpone travel” “Dream Now, Travel soon” will greatly contribute to the further development of the sphere and the restoration of the situation in the future.
