Khiva was one of the largest cities of ancient Khorezm, a large state in western Central Asia. According archaeological data, the city was founded over 2,500 years ago. Currently, Khiva is a city museum under open air, where are large number of minarets, madrasahs and mosques. Large number of monuments is located in Ichan Kala (Inner Fortress). At the forum, the participants and the guests had chance to feel spirit of the ancient city.

The forum was organized by Uzbektourism and its Advertisement Agency Great Silk Road at the support of Khorezm regional administration and regional branch of Uzbektourism.

One day regional business forum attracted local companies and it was directed at developing internal tourism.

Among the participants were such hotels as Uyutniy Dom, Elshod Hotel, Green Grand Garden, Fayz, Navruz, Sher hotel, guest houses Ganijon Afandi and Alibek, tour companies as Javhar Hulkar yulduzi, Xorasmiya Kavsar, Bek tur, Zukhro Travel and others.

The workshop included various seminars, presentations and roundtable. In particular, Khoream regional administration of Uzbektourism presented implementation of the presidential resolution on development of tourism in Khorezm region in 2013-2015 and promotion of tourism potential of the region.

The workshop also included a seminary on organization of catering and eastern hospitality, master class on culinary for hotel businesses, etc.

Participants of Workshop’2013 considered perspective directions of development of regional tourism, regional branding and problems of tourism sector, creation of tour products, attracting foreign tourists, and other issues.

After the business part of Workshop’2013, the participants of the forum visited historic places and sights of Khiva and festival, organized at Ichan Kala.

The festival is aimed at developing regional culture and nature tourism, increasing employment and income of population, preserving cultural traditions, etc.
