Uzbekistan to strengthen payment discipline for waste collection services
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has adopted a new law aimed at enhancing payment discipline in the collection and disposal of solid household waste, the Ministry of Justice has reported.
The legislation introduces amendments and additions to the Civil Code, the Housing Code, as well as the laws "On Competition" and "On Electric Power Industry."
Under the new law, consumers with outstanding debts for waste collection services will receive SMS notifications. If the debt remains unpaid, payments for electricity services from such consumers will be temporarily restricted until full settlement.
