Uzbekistan assumed presidency in the SCO in June 2009. The SCO unites Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The agency said that the important priority of the SCO activity during Uzbekistan’s presidency is to continue approved and well-tried policy, realization of existing and development of new documents.
Uzbekistan pays special attention for further improving efficiency of the organization due to development of international contacts and strengthening of normative-legal base, full adherence to targets, goals and principles of the SCO Charter and execution of initiatives related to security and stability in the region.
The article said there is need to develop contacts of the SCO with other international and regional organizations like the UN and European Union.
