Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Uzbekistan plans to build a plant for the production of contactless, microprocessor, and other plastic cards using German technology.

The Single Republic-wide Processing Center (SRPC) and Veridos GmbH (Germany) carry out this project. The plant will produce up to 75 million units of plastic card per year.

It is expected that the company will export up to 20% of products per year.

Construction will be carried out in Tashkent in 2019-2020 at the expense of the investor’s own resources and attracted funds.

For the production of microprocessor-based, contactless and other cards, high-tech equipment from leading global manufacturers will be purchased.

The company will issue ID cards (8 million per year), SIM cards (25 million per year), data pages for foreign passports (6 million per year), bank cards (10 million per year), driving licenses (3 million per year), technical passports of vehicles (3 million per year), health cards (5 million per year), social cards (5 million per year), marriage certificate cards (4 million per year), transport cards (5 million per year ), special cards for military servicemen, civil servants (1 million per year).

Also, the plant will produce card products on the orders of ministries and departments, economic entities, including operators of payment systems, using chip modules and other consumables from third-party manufacturers.

As part of the project until June 1, 2020 construction will be carried out with the parallel development of design and estimate documentation.

The company received tax and customs benefits before July 1, 2021.
