Uzbekistan to set a limit on prices for AI-80 gasoline

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Uzbekistan plans to establish a limit on prices for AI-80 gasoline at all gas stations.

According to the draft government resolution, the maximum price for this fuel can be set at 8,000 soums per liter.

Currently, at UNG Petro stations, a subsidiary of Uzbekneftegaz, AI-80 gasoline is sold at a price of 6,800 soums, and at private gas stations the price reaches 8,800 soums.

According to information from the Ministry of Energy, the project to limit gasoline prices is supported by the government and is expected to be adopted in the coming days.

At the same time, it is expected that drivers will gradually switch to higher quality AI-92 gasoline, which is sold at a price of 9.5 thousand soums.

Uzbekistan also plans to phase out the production and sale of AI-80 gasoline. By 2025, the production of AI-80 at the Ferhgana Oil Refinery will be discontinued, and the Bukhara Oil Refinery will completely switch to the production of higher-quality fuel by 2026.

In addition, the Government intends to attract large companies such as Tatneft, Lukoil, Gazpromneft and Saneg to build new filling complexes in various regions of the country to improve quality and competition in the fuel market.

In total, it is planned to build 80 gas stations. Of these, Saneg is expected to build 59 gas stations, the rest of the companies - 27.
