Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, highlighted shortcomings in the implementation of projects with the participation of international financial organizations.

A videoconference meeting is being held under the chairmanship of the President on key tasks in the areas of investment, exports and international cooperation for 2024.

It was noted that design estimates for some projects financed by international financial organizations have not been developed, tenders have not been held, and funds remain unused.

Cases of delays and misuse of funds in some projects have also been identified.

The President instructed to develop a draft decision on a radical change in the system of interaction with international financial institutions.

Now, before selecting projects, it is planned to hold a public discussion, bring the technical and economic framework in line with the requirements of financial institutions, digitize tender processes, and the period for consideration of proposals should not exceed 1 month. Training will also be organized for specialists working with financial institutions.

It was also noted that it is necessary to develop private partnerships, intensify the attraction of grants from foreign organizations, including increasing the activity and responsibility of ambassadors in this direction.
