Uzbekistan to reduce the cost of Umrah to 16.6 million soums per person

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 10 January, the cost of the small pilgrimage - Umrah - will be reduced in Uzbekistan. This was reported by the press service of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan.

The department notes that the price of the Umrah service at the Hajj and Umrah center of the Muslim Office was set at 16.6 million soums per person.

This decision was reached during negotiations with the heads of a number of official departments in Saudi Arabia, the Muslim Authority notes.

On 7 January, a meeting between the delegation of Uzbekistan and the leadership of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia took place.

At a meeting with the participation of the Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfik bin Fauzon al-Rabia, the chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs Sadikzhan Toshboev and the chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan Mufti Sheikh Nuriddin Khaliknazar, the prospects for mutual cooperation were discussed.

The issues of organizing the Hajj 2024 season were also discussed at a high level. During the meeting, it was noted that cooperation between the two countries is developing, the number of pilgrims performing Hajj and Umrah is sharply increasing.

The Minister of Hajj and Umrah said that his last year’s visit to the land of Uzbekistan was memorable for the rest of his life, emphasizing that Uzbekistan is achieving better results and has been developing rapidly in recent years.

At the meeting, the Uzbek delegation presented its opinion on further improving the quality of services for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims.

As a result of the dialogue, an agreement was signed between the Committee on Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah on further improvement of blessed journeys.
