Uzbekistan to launch mobile app for monitoring gas station operations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov announced in the Lolazor podcast the launch of a mobile application aimed at monitoring gas station operations, which will significantly simplify life for car owners during the winter season.

The winter season in Uzbekistan is traditionally accompanied by a sharp increase in gas demand, often leading to shortages at gas filling stations (AGNKS) and long queues. In response to this issue, Mirzamakhmudov emphasized the need for implementing digital solutions to improve service quality for citizens.

"We will soon launch a mobile application that will allow users to see in real time which gas stations have gas and which do not. This solution will enable drivers to plan their trips in advance and avoid unnecessary waiting," the minister stated.

The application will cover more than 1,200 gas stations across the country. It will provide information not only about gas availability but also about the timing of gas deliveries to specific stations, which is particularly important in winter when demand sharply increases and supply interruptions cause serious inconveniences for citizens.

Mirzamakhmudov noted that the app is being developed in collaboration with local IT companies and will be available for free download. Gas stations will be able to voluntarily connect to the system, providing data about their operations.

"We are not forcing stations to connect, but we are confident that this application will significantly improve service levels and simplify interaction between gas stations and customers," the minister added.

The application will also display current data on station operating hours and their workload, allowing users to choose the most convenient refueling locations based on their whereabouts.

The minister emphasized that the new system will ensure transparency in the operations of gas stations. Prompt and accurate information will significantly reduce the load on gas stations and decrease the number of complaints from car owners.

"We strive for citizens to refuel their vehicles without unnecessary worries and queues. The new system will enhance transparency and accessibility of gas station services," Mirzamakhmudov noted.

The launch of the app is part of a broader program for the digitalization of Uzbekistan’s energy sector. The ministry plans to further expand the use of digital technologies to improve interaction with consumers and enhance industry efficiency.

Mirzamakhmudov also mentioned that the project has received international support, and Uzbekistan aims to adopt successful experiences from countries that have already implemented similar solutions in the energy sector.
