Uzbekistan to launch local flights to new destinations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution on additional measures to develop local air services in the republic.

The document notes that from March 2023, regular flights will be opened in such new directions as Samarkand - Nukus, Samarkand - Muynak, Samarkand - Termez, Bukhara - Termez, Namangan - Termez and Namangan - Nukus.

The President instructed to restore air communication with Shakhrisabz and Sariosie airports, as well as air communication with Zomin airport.

In accordance with the resolution, measures will be taken to create a unified logistics system by integrating the flight schedule with convenient rail, bus and minibus routes for passengers.

It was decided to extend until 1 January 2026 the period for providing subsidies to resident airlines of Uzbekistan from the republican budget in the amount of 25 percent of the cost of air tickets for flights on domestic tourist routes.

Resident airlines of Uzbekistan will be exempted for a period until 1 January 2028 from paying customs duties for aircraft maintenance equipment imported into Uzbekistan, their equipment, components, spare parts, technical documentation and software.
