Gazeta.uz reported that Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution on introduction of new banknotes.

On Tuesday, the copy of the Senate’s resolution was circulated in the social media. The sources of the news outlet in Central Bank and the Government confirmed adoption of the resolution.

The precise date of introduction of new banknote was not reported. Soon, Central Bank of Uzbekistan should publish images of new banknote.

Currently, Uzbekistan’s highest banknote has the value of 5,000 soums. Central Bank of Uzbekistan introduced 5,000 soum banknote into circulation on 1 July 2013.
