Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan plans to implement new standards for the design and construction of residential buildings.
This is outlined in the draft of the 2025 state program, which has been published for public discussion.
According to the draft, by September 2025, regulations will be developed mandating the creation of underground parking spaces when designing, constructing, and commissioning multi-story residential buildings. Additionally, requirements for above-ground parking will also be introduced.
Other proposals include the installation of irrigation systems using wastewater, rainwater, and technical water, as well as limiting water consumption in sanitary devices to 3-6 liters. Aerator faucets will be used to reduce water consumption.
The plan also involves insulating building walls with basalt-based materials and equipping buildings with carbon monoxide detectors. In 2023, a large-scale basalt cladding of buildings was carried out in Tashkent.
Furthermore, the 2023 state program included commitments to create parking lots, including multi-story and underground ones, for residential, social, and commercial properties. However, changes to the Urban Planning Code in this regard have not yet been made.
