Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On additional measures to digitalize the healthcare system" was adopted.

Uzbekistan and KfW Bank signed a loan agreement in the amount of 45 million euros for a period of 12 years, including a five-year grace period, as well as a grant agreement in the amount of 5.5 million euros to finance the project "Support for Reforms on Digitalization of Healthcare".

According to the Resolution, the Ministry of Health is the executive body responsible for the timely implementation and coordination of the Project.

The return of borrowed funds is carried out at the expense of the republican budget.

In accordance with the Resolution, for the purpose of timely and effective implementation of the Project, a Project Office for managing the digital health system will be established.

Also, according to the Resolution:

payment for licenses for the use of information systems implemented within the framework of the Project are included in the cost of their implementation and these licenses are valid for at least 5 years after the full implementation of information systems in practice;

the funds saved during the implementation of the Project are directed, as a matter of priority, to the digitalization of activities and the purchase of computer equipment for primary health care institutions.

The resolution approved an action plan for the digitalization of the healthcare system for 2023-2025.

The action plan includes, among other things:

Implementation of the Electronic Prescription system (reimbursement);

Development of the platform "Electronic sanatorium", which creates the possibility of obtaining a ticket to the sanatorium, tracking the queue and availability;

Implementation of the Cancer-Register information system for maintaining an electronic list of cancer patients;

Creation of the electronic system "Passport of health of mother and child";

Creation of the possibility of obtaining leaflets and certificates of temporary disability through the Single Portal.
