Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 1 July 2024, Uzbekistan will introduce a recycling fee on pneumatic rubber tires and tires for import and production.

On 28 December, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a law on amendments to legislation in connection with the adoption of the main directions of tax and budget policy for 2024.

According to the document, the recycling fee rate will depend on the weight of each tire and will be 0.3% of the BRV (currently 990 soums) per 1 kg.

This means that the fee for passenger cars with tires from R13 to R20 will be from 6.2 thousand to 16.2 thousand soums, and for trucks with tires from R16 to R18 - from 11.3 thousand to 58.8 thousand soums.

Funds raised from this collection will be used to finance Yashil Makon projects and environmental protection.
