Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to implement a new billing system for recording electricity consumption supplied to the population starting from 1 August. This announcement was made by Alvar Gaibullaev, the First Deputy Head of "Regional Electric Networks".
Alvar Gaibullaev noted that the new billing system is currently undergoing testing in the Yakkasaray district of Tashkent.
The system will launch a website and a mobile application that will provide information about payments and electricity consumption.
According to the representative of "Regional Electric Networks", currently 90% of the country is equipped with "smart" meters. By 1 August, all 8.5 million active subscribers will be provided with "smart" meters according to their data.
