Uzbekistan is current chair of the SCO, which also includes Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan.
Uzbek Foreign Minister said the interactions between two organizations should turn into real partnership.
He said the two bodies should develop interaction in such areas as security and stability, economic, social and humanitarian development, as well as other spheres of mutual interest.
“We believe that the effective combination of the United Nations’ great experience and Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s potential will strengthen regional and international security, promote sustainable development in the countries of the region,” Norov said.
