Uzbekistan to increase liquefied gas production by 2014
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to increase production of liquefied gas by 2.3 times by 2014 compared to 2011 to 587,000 tonnes, Uzbekneftegaz materials said.

Uzbekneftegaz is planning to raise liquefied gas production mainly on the base of Mubarek Gas Processing Plant and Shortanneftegaz.

The programme also included modernization of gas fractionation plants at Ferghana Refinery and Bukhara Refinery, as well as project on utilization of associated gas at Kokdumalak field.

According to the company, total investments to these projects on construction of new liquefied gas production facilities and reconstruction of existing capacities will make US$385 million.

In particular, it is planned to complete construction of propane-butane mixture facility at Mubarek gas processing plant with the cost of US$244 million. The designed capacity of the facility is 12 billion cubic meteres of gas and it will produce 258,000 tonnes of liquefied gas and 125,000 tonnes of gas condensate. Ukraine’s JSC Sumy NPO supplies equipment to the project.

In the fourth quarter of 2012, Uzbekneftegaz is planning to complete construction of the fifth line of propane-butane mixture facility at Shortanneftegaz with the capacity of 3 billion cubic meters of gas, which will allow to produce additional 50,000 liquefied gas a year. Kazan Motor Construction Production Union and JSC Sumy NPO are supplying equipment.

According to holding, the facilities will reach their design capacity by the end of 2013.
