Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Currently, a delegation from the Uzbekistan Committee of Highways is on a working visit to the People’s Republic of China. The visit focuses primarily on expanding scientific and technical cooperation in the field of road construction.

In particular, meetings were held with the leadership of the Institute of Engineering Surveys, Design, and Research in the city of Tianjin. During the visit to the largest testing laboratory in China, discussions centered on opportunities for joint development of innovative road materials and the implementation of advanced technologies.

As a result of the negotiations, Uzbekistan signed its first-ever cooperation agreement with a highly developed foreign country, envisaging the creation of a unified system of standards for the road industry, the development of innovative solutions, and the launch of projects for the digitalization of road management.

The signed agreement marks a significant milestone for the Scientific Research Institute of Highways and opens new horizons for applying advanced expertise. Practical work on implementing modern materials, standardizing processes, and digitally transforming the sector is expected to begin soon in the country.

This partnership is anticipated to make a substantial contribution to strengthening scientific capacity and modernizing Uzbekistan’s road infrastructure in line with international standards.
