Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22-24 July 2022, Samarkand will host the VI International Congress of the World Society "Cultural heritage of Uzbekistan - the basis of a new Renaissance".

The event is organized by the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan with the support of over 10 international and 5 national organizations. The general sponsor-organizer of the Congress is the Eriell Group.

The key event of the Congress will be the presentation of 10 new volumes of books-albums of the series "Cultural heritage of Uzbekistan in the collections of the world" (51-60 volumes). Thus, a collection of illustrated books, on which more than 350 scientists from more than 25 countries worked, 100 libraries and museums of world renown, has already reached 60 volumes.

In addition, a presentation of a unique edition of an ancient manuscript is planned. One of Europe's leading publishing houses Mueller & Schindler will show a facsimile of the rarest manuscript, commissioned by the outstanding son of the Uzbek land, astrologer Mirzo Ulugbek. The historical value and authenticity of this rare ancient manuscript, kept in the collection of the National Library of France, is beyond doubt.

The bright moments of the Congress will also be round tables on such topics as "Heritage that unites peoples: Central Asia and Azerbaijan", "New directions of the World Society: plans and prospects", "National museums and collections in the focus of the World Society".

Also within the framework of the Congress there will be a presentation of two unique books about the art of Uzbekistan. These are deluxe editions “On the banks of the Aral and Amu. Art of the Karakalpaks” and “Ornament: Aesthetics, Magic, Meaning”.

On 22 July, the International Scientific Conference "Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan in the Focus of Modern Science" will be held at the Palace of Youth Creativity in Samarkand.

On 23 July, the grand opening of the VI International Congress "Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan - the basis of a new Renaissance" will take place.

Over 100 reports by well-known orientalists from more than 35 countries of the world dedicated to the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan and the countries of Central Asia will be heard during two days.

More than 250 world-famous oriental scholars will take part in the work of the Congress, including 33 directors of famous international museums, 15 directors of national museums, 6 representatives of international organizations, more than 15 academicians, more than 20 professors, more than 20 doctors of science.

“The project “Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan in the Collections of the World” can be safely called one of the brightest results of the policy of New Uzbekistan, the reforms carried out by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the field of culture. According to the Development Strategy of Uzbekistan, since 2016 the issue of studying, preserving and popularizing the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan has been elevated to the rank of state policy of the state, and this approach, attention from the President and the government, are yielding results that are already recognized by the whole world.
