Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A press briefing was held at the Banking and Finance Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan (BFA) on the Republican Olympiad in financial literacy among students of secondary schools, lyceums, colleges and undergraduate students of higher educational institutions.

The Olympiad is organized by the Banking and Finance Academy together with the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education, the Ministry of Public Education, the Agency for Youth Affairs, the Youth Union and the National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity.

The main purpose of the Olympiad in accordance with Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan is to increase the level of financial literacy, namely, to popularize knowledge, stimulate educational and research activities in the field of finance among students; increasing the level of theoretical knowledge and the formation of practical skills in the use of methods of planning budgets and savings, control of their income and expenses; the formation of a financial culture and the development of skills in maintaining financial discipline.

The Olympiad will be held online annually in 2 stages - in March and April each year. Participation in it will be voluntary and free. Participating teams will be offered to solve competitive thematic problems in the following areas:

- simple and compound interest, annuity;

- deposits and loans;

- types of financial products;

- investment methods;

- insurance;

- personal financial planning;

- analysis and optimization of assets and liabilities;

- blockchain, cryptocurrencies;

other.

Rector of the Banking and Finance Academy Timur Yadgarov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Elzara Yuzlikaeva, Director of the Fintech School of BFA Kim Vladlen, Dean of the BFA Master’s Degree Allayarov Fazliddin answered the questions of journalists on the organization and conduct of the Olympiad.
