Uzbekistan to fix electricity and gas tariffs for three years starting in 2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 2026, electricity and natural gas tariffs in Uzbekistan will be set for a minimum period of three years, with the new policy coming into effect on 1 April 2025.

This measure is outlined in the government resolution titled "On Additional Measures for Further Improvement of Tariff Policy in the Fuel and Energy Sector."

The resolution also envisions the gradual introduction of a unified pricing policy for electricity and natural gas across all regions of Uzbekistan by 2035.

To support low-income and vulnerable populations, the government will apply base tariffs and provide compensations in case of price increases.

The shift to long-term tariff regulation was first announced in June 2024 as part of broader energy sector reforms. Previously, electricity and gas prices in Uzbekistan were reviewed up to twice a year.
