Uzbekistan to expand remote participation opportunities in court hearings
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Senate of Uzbekistan has approved a law aimed at creating favorable conditions for the remote participation of citizens in court hearings.
In recent years, the digitization of the judicial system has facilitated the liberalization of citizens' access to courts, ensuring transparency and accessibility of justice.
In this context, senators emphasized the importance of improving procedural legislation, including the implementation of a mobile video conferencing system in court hearings.
The law amends the Civil Procedure Code, the Economic Procedure Code, and the Administrative Procedure Code, establishing the legal basis for remote participation.
Specifically, the testimonies of witnesses, experts, specialists, and translators participating in hearings via video conferencing will be recorded using audio and video recordings and included in the protocol.
The adoption of this law will enhance citizens' access to justice and provide reliable protection of their rights and legal interests.
