Uzbekistan to expand export of goods through Aktau port

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan is set to expand the export of goods across the Caspian Sea, focusing on the growth of container shipping.

On 7 November, a delegation from Uzbekistan held talks with representatives of Kazakhstan’s National Company "Aktau Sea Commercial Port," as reported by the "Dunyo" agency.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current capabilities of Aktau Port, its technical equipment, and potential benefits for Uzbek exporters.

An agreement was also signed to develop mutually beneficial cooperation and launch joint projects with promising prospects.
Aktau Port continues to enhance its infrastructure and increase its capacity, emphasizing the active development of container and transit transportation.

The port already plays a key role within the framework of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), opening new avenues for Uzbek goods to reach international markets via Kazakhstan and the South Caucasus.

By the end of 2024, the transit flow through Aktau Port is expected to increase by more than 5 million tons, with plans to further boost these figures in the coming years.
