The project will construct two combined-cycle plants with total capacity of 800 megawatt. Currently, the company is developing preliminary feasibility study.
It is expected that the project implementation will be started next year. The project planned to realize in 2010-2014, but the government adopted decision to speed up construction.
The expansion of the station will allow to eliminate electricity deficit, which exists in Samarkand-Bukhara region and create reserve capacities to export electricity, including to Afghanistan.
