Uzbekistan to create national DNA database
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan adopted a decision to create national database of DNA, Norma.uz reported.

Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan adopted a programme on development of Republican center for forensic inquiry named after Sulaymanova under the Ministry of Justice for 2012-2015.

The programme envisages to improve legal framework of forensic inquiry service. In particular, it is planned to develop a law “On genomic registration”, which will set legal base for receiving, collecting and storing biologic samples, which will be used to creation of national DNA database.

Within the programme, it is planned to introduce new types of researches such as complex research of audio and video products based on digital technologies, signs of electro-acoustic montage, expert assessment of the cost of right to land, etc.

It is also planned to develop standards on equipment of forensic labs of the Center and development of standards and certificates to ensure high quality of the inquiries.

The Government also adopted decision to pay additional 30% from tariff rate to employees of the center to strengthen their well-being and ensure social protection.

Till 1 January 2016, the Center was exempted from payment of customs duties (except registration fee) for imported equipment and materials.

The Government also entrusted Tashkent city administration to allocate land for construction of new building of the Center.
