President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a resolution “On creation of Design Center under the state joint stock company Uzbekyengilsanoat” on 17 June 2011.

New center will be created in form of unitary enterprise under the state joint stock company Uzbekyengilsanoat (Uzbek Light Industry). The center will develop models of light industry products, based on growing demand and needs of population, study new trends in the world, conduct marketing research of external and internal markets of light industry products.

The design center will establish close cooperation and study advanced experience of leading design centers, specializing in model business and production of clothes. New structure will create season collection of clothes in various assortment based on national peculiarities and mentality of population, develop technical terms and description of models.

The Center will regularly update developed models based on market trends, create competitive clothes, render consulting services in formation of orders portfolio for clothes production. The center will attract modern technologies to textile, sewing and knitting industries and conduct scientific-research and consulting activities. It will also organize fashion shows of local and foreign designers, conference, exhibitions, seminars and master classes.

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov exempted design center till 1 January 2016 from payment of all taxes and mandatory payments t National Road Fund of Finance Ministry. The Government will also allocate funds from its reserve fund to reconstruction and equipment of the center.
