Uzbekistan to construct Kamolot small hydro power station
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekenergo state joint stock company will construct Kamolot small hydro power station at Chirchiq-Bozsu section in 2010-2012.

Uzbekenergo announced a tender on supplying, assembling and balancing and commissioning works of water turbine facility in set of automated management and hydroelectric generating set with the capacity of 8 megawatt at Kamolot small hydro power station at Chirchiq-Bozsu section.

In line with tender terms, the maximal price of equipment, taking into account supply, assembly and balancing and commissioning works, is US$3.869 million. The supply terms is within 12 months.

Both foreign and local producers (suppliers) can participate in tender. Tender proposals are accepted till 29 November 2010. Uzbekenergo plans to sum up results of the tender in early December 2010.

The project cost is US$12.1 million and it will be implemented in 2010-2012. The project is financed due to own resources of Uzbekenergo for US$8.2 million and Fund for Development and Reconstruction of Uzbekistan for US$3.9 million.

After launch of the station, it will produce up to 35 million K.W.H. of electricity a year. The project will help to save 11 million cubic meters of natural gas a year. The recoupment term of the project is about 15 years.
