Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Presidential Decree "On the wide celebration of the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights" was adopted.

The document approved the Program of events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The initiative is aimed at continuing the implementation of international obligations in the field of human rights, increasing citizens’ knowledge of the principles and norms of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

The National Commission for the implementation of the Fourth Stage of the World Educational Program in the field of human rights in the Republic of Uzbekistan is entrusted with the following tasks:

assistance in organizing and implementing the activities specified in the Program, as well as monitoring and controlling their timely implementation;

ensuring close cooperation with international organizations, primarily with UN agencies on the active participation of representatives of Uzbekistan in international events dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights;

organization of wide media coverage of program events.

From 2023, a decade of "Human Rights" and a nationwide lesson dedicated to the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in all institutions of general secondary, secondary specialized, vocational and higher education will be held annually from 1 to 10 December.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance was instructed to allocate US$100,000 as a voluntary contribution from Uzbekistan to a special fund of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to support efforts in the practical implementation of the main goals of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
