Uzbekistan to buy six asphalt-concrete complexes for US$54m
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government of Uzbekistan adopted a resolution “On measures on implementation of investment project “Purchase of six sets of specialized mobile asphalt-concrete complexes”.

The document was adopted in order to reconstruct and construct the Uzbek national highway, development and reconstruction of automobile roads’ network, which meet international standards and ensure reliable connection of territories of Uzbekistan and improve international transit transportations.

The resolution approved sources of financing of investment project “Purchase of six sets of specialized mobile asphalt-concrete complexes”.

According to the document, the project will be financed due to own resources of the Republican Road Fund under the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan for US$1.04 million and loan of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan (FRDU) for US$52.9 million.

The loan will be issued for five years with one year grace period. The interest rate is set at 2.5% APR with margin of the refinancing of National Bank of Uzbekistan for Foreign Economic Activity at the size of 0.5% APR.

The resolution said that new equipment will be handed over to state company Transyolqurilish. The debt of loan, interest rates and commotions of the FRDU will be paid due to own resources of the Republican Road Fund.

According to the resolution, Republican Road Fund signed import agreement on supply of seven types of road construction equipments (108 units) in the result of tenders and financed it for US$21.4 million.

Within the Fifth International Industrial Fair and Cooperation Exchange, the Fund signed agreement with JV MAN-Auto Uzbekistan on supply of 11 types of road construction equipments (228 units) and financed it for US$26.6 million.

In the result of the marketing research, conducted by the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan, potential suppliers of five types of road construction equipments (36 units) worth US$4.9 million were determined.

As reported earlier, Uzbekistan plans to direct some 920.7 billion soums construction and reconstruction of 517 km of roads, as well as strengthen material-technical equipment of the road construction organizations.
