Uzbekistan to build five new hydroelectric power plants based on PPP

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekhydroenergo announced a tender for the construction of five new hydroelectric power plants. This is the first major project based on public-private partnership in the field of hydropower.

Synergy Consulting was chosen as a financial consultant, Turkish Dolsar Engineering as a technical consultant, and Kazakhstani Unicase as a legal consultant. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy.

It is planned to build five HPPs with a total capacity of 46.6 MW - Dukentsay, Kamchik, Kizildarya, Kuyi Koksu and Suvlisay. All projects are exhibited as a single lot.

The total cost of future power plants is estimated at US$106.9 million. It is estimated that once commissioned, they together will be able to generate an average of 179 million kWh of electricity annually.

Holding a tender for all projects in one lot will simplify and optimize construction processes, increase their efficiency and transparency. Foreign experience is used to ensure financial stability and compliance with engineering standards.
